Overview
TimeSync is a lightweight, privacy-first serverless web application designed to solve cross-timezone meeting confusion without requiring user logins, OAuth permissions, or invasive calendar access.
It enables invitees to paste a meeting link, enter the date/time and origin timezone, preview the event dynamically in their local browser timezone, and open prefilled drafts directly in Google Calendar, Outlook, or download universal .ics files.

Architectural Highlights
- Serverless Backend: Built with Python 3.13 on AWS Lambda fronted by Amazon API Gateway with HTTP APIs for minimal latency and zero idle cost.
- Global Edge Distribution: Static assets and progressive web app (PWA) manifest distributed globally via Amazon CloudFront with Brotli compression and security response headers.
- Privacy-by-Design Architecture:
- No application-level meeting data retention by default.
- Payloads are processed entirely in memory; meeting titles, links, and recipient emails are never written to CloudWatch logs or persistent databases in default mode.
- Local history is stored strictly in the visitor’s browser
localStorage.
- Reliable Email Dispatch: Integrated with Amazon SES with DKIM, SPF, and DMARC verification for sending calendar invitations on demand.
- CI/CD Pipeline: Fully automated deployment workflows via GitHub Actions verifying formatting, unit test suites, and AWS SAM / CloudFormation deployments.
Key Features
- Instant Multi-Zone Search: Search across 400+ IANA timezones by city, offset (
UTC+1,GMT-5), or regional abbreviation. - Dynamic Range Calculation: Computes exact meeting start-to-end windows considering daylight saving time shifts.
- One-Click Calendar Drafts: Generates direct intent URLs for Google Calendar and Outlook Web without OAuth scopes.
- PWA Support: Installable on desktop and mobile operating systems with offline caching for asset delivery.
